(February 26, 2016) Tina Salazar is passionate about health and making healthy choices, but it wasn’t always that way. Tina started working at McDonald’s at age sixteen in her parent’s store. She now owns four San Antonio area McDonald’s restaurants. She recognizes the importance of having healthy choices available and sees ¡Por Vida! as helping to provide the nutrition education on how to create a healthy meal from the menu. Every McDonald’s in San Antonio now has information available about the meal combinations that fit into the ¡Por Vida! program guidelines, so their customers can make informed choices.
(February 13, 2016) Founder and president of Papouli's Greek Grill Nick Anthony and chef Leslie joined ¡Por Vida! dietitian on KENS 5 this morning to showcase the flavors of the Mediterranean region. Leslie demonstrated how they grill the shrimp and chicken skewers for the Papouli's ¡Por Vida! plate, using fresh herbs, citrus, and pepper to season.

2016) Powerhouse Bakery, a local business owned by registered dietitian and
chef Suzanne Parker, joined ¡Por Vida!, a Metro Health program which provides
healthy options at local restaurants and other facilities. Powerhouse Bakery will offer ¡Por Vida! meals to go at its storefront on Golden Quail Road and at Local Health Market on Huebner Road.
(October 30, 2015) – Cocina Heritage, a family owned catering business
specializing in traditional recipes from Central and Southern Mexico, joined
¡Por Vida!, a Metro Health program which provides healthy options at local
restaurants and other facilities. Cocina Heritage will offer ¡Por Vida! meals
through catering events, take-out, and at their farmer’s market location at
Castle Hills.
(October 4, 2013) – D.R. Healthy Meals, a new restaurant focusing on healthy carry-out, curbside service or delivery, is adopting the ¡Por Vida! program. The restaurant uses seasonal, hand-selected ingredients and sustainably farmed proteins with no added hormones, antibiotics fillers or preservatives.
