SAN ANTONIO (Jan. 14, 2016) – Powerhouse Bakery, a local business owned by registered dietitian and chef Suzanne Parker, joined ¡Por Vida!, a Metro Health program which provides healthy options at local restaurants and other facilities. Powerhouse Bakery will offer ¡Por Vida! meals to go at its storefront on Golden Quail Road and at Local Health Market on Huebner Road.
“We welcome Powerhouse Bakery to the growing list of ¡Por Vida! business partners who are committed to providing healthy meal options outside the home,” says Metro Health’s Chronic Disease Prevention Dietitian, Anna Macnak.
Some of Powerhouse Bakery’s ¡Por Vida! menu items include: Eggs & Greens Frittata, Protein Pancakes with Apple Butter, Grilled Turkey Burger & Sweet Potato Fries, Rosemary Chicken with Quinoa, Loaded Lasagna, Quinoa-Stuffed Bell Pepper, Street Tacos, Veggie Cali Crust Pizza, and Chicken Enchiladas. All items that meet the program’s nutritional criteria will be marked with the ¡Por Vida! logo for easy recognition.
